Second Announcement (June 15th, 2003)

Dear Colleague,

since the First Announcement we have received a significant number of Expression of Interests. In this Second Announcement we will give you some practical information concerning the organization of the workshop. We plan to release the Third and final Announcement on September 8th, 2003. Note that the web page of the workshop (web.ct.astro.it/vulcano_2003/main.html) is continuosly updated: please, check it for the most recent information.

NEW DEADLINES
We have changed the deadlines for Abstract submission and early payment of the registration fee, but we have shifted to July 15th the deadline for Hotel Reservation.

HOTEL REGISTRATION
You can now register for the Hotel reservation through the Workshop web page. PLEASE NOTE THAT ALSO THE INVITED SPEAKERS ARE REQUESTED TO FILL THIS FORM.
We need to have your registration as soon as possible, and in any case NOT LATER THAN JULY 15TH, 2003. We remind you that the Hotel Eolian has only a limited number of single rooms, which will be given on a "first come first served" basis. People planning to bring an adult and MORE THAN ONE CHILD are kindly requested to specify this circumstance in the Hotel Registration Form, because the hotel can easily accomodate an additional bed in the two-bed rooms, but unfortunately the number of rooms where 2 additional beds can be accomodated is very limited.

PAYMENT OF THE REGISTRATION FEE
The conference fee will be 250 Euros for early registration (i.e. before July 30th, 2003) has been set. After that date, the fee will be 300 Euros.
The early payment can only be done by remitting the amount on the following bank account:

TRAVEL INFORMATION
We expect that most participants will reach Vulcano on September 30th, and until that date there should be frequent hydrofoil from Milazzo, Reggio Calabria and also from Naples (more details will appear on the web page after July 3rd, when all the hydrofoil companies will communicate their final timetables). The timetables for October are not yet officially available, however we have been ensured by one of these companies (SIREMAR) that with high probability there will be three departures from Vulcano to Milazzo, at 2.15, 5.05 and 6:15 pm, respectively. We will put the updated timetables on the workshop's web page as soon as they will be made available.
